OWNER / PRINCIPAL

John Ciccarelli is an experienced street cyclist and nationally certified bicycling instructor who uses a bicycle, augmented with transit, for many of his solo transportation needs.  His “behind the handlebars” knowledge informs his work on planning, design and safety projects.

History

John founded Bicycle Solutions in 1999 after serving for four years as Stanford University's first full-time Bicycle Program Coordinator.  Prior to Stanford, John enjoyed an 18-year career as a software developer at firms such as Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, Plexus Computers / Software, and Adobe Systems.  John served on the National (NCUTCD) Bicycle Technical Committee from 2002 through 2012, and on the California Traffic Control Devices Committee (CTCDC) between 2012 and 2015.
