- Route
segment data collection and database
A key element of a bicycle transportation plan is
a comprehensive tabulation of the street segments
that comprise the existing and planned route network.
We have developed a street inventory database system
that presents the collected data in an easy-to-understand
layout that can quickly generate cost estimates for
proposed improvements.
We
can collect and organize the street segment and bicycle
parking data that form the basis of your bicycle plan.
We survey the streets by bicycle or car, measuring
and photographing existing conditions and noting obstacles
and opportunities. You receive an inventory database
with images to enable informed discussion without
extra field visits to re-check conditions.
- Bicycle
parking and storage inventory
City bike plans are excellent opportunities to determine
the quality and quantity of bike racks and storage
that's actually installed. We can rapidly field-survey
your workplaces, shopping centers, schools and downtowns
and present the results in an easy-to-understand format
that enables budgeting for replacement and capacity
expansion.
- Route
alternatives analysis
We can help your plan create the best possible route
network for your city. Our firsthand knowledge of
street cycling, combined with traffic engineering
training, lets us innovate solutions to difficult
circulation and crossing problems that often arise.
- Public
outreach and surveys
We can design, prepare, and circulate the user needs
and opinion surveys that let you know who will and
won't use or support your proposed project. We compile,
analyze, and present the results, using graphs and
tables that let your community understand the patterns
and implications behind the data.
