Learning to ride a bicycle (at ~6 years old) was one of the most painful and difficult things I have done in my life to date.  It took a long time over multiple weeks with repeated scrapes on my legs.  However, when I succeeded it became a great source of joy and pride that inspired me to ride for transportation.

After attending my first two official bike classes and receiving encouragement from instructor Anthony DiSalvo, I decided to become an instructor too.  Over the past 6 years, in addition to teaching private lessons with Bicycle Solutions, I have taught various classes for a wide age range, ranging from learn-to-ride to street riding, for Bike East Bay, Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and two other organizations.

"I like helping people overcome fears, become more confident, and enjoy biking more. My favorite moments are when I see students overcome something that is challenging to them and swell with joy and pride, including learning to ride in a much shorter time than it took me -- and without the injuries."

Aside from teaching and bicycling, I am working on a smart bicycle rack.  I also enjoy playing board games, reading, hiking and cooking.
