PUBLIC & PRIVATE ENTITY BICYCLE EDUCATION

Many organizations engage in some way with bicycle use, whether offering bikes as campus transportation, advocating and providing for bicycle use within a community, organizing and promoting group rides, or teaching or coaching advanced level riding or racing. Bicycle Solutions affiliated instructors are available to all ages and skill levels, and their services can be applied at the organizational and community level. Their emphasis is on improving safe cycling skills for individuals and groups, resulting in more competent riders, better relationships with the non-cycling world, and more of our neighbors employing the bike for their daily transportation needs.

BICYCLE EDUCATION FOR AGENCIES, ORGANIZATIONS & CLUBS

Share The Road is a mandate that applies to cyclists as well as motor vehicle operators. Bicycle Solutions affiliated instructors teach methods for safely and effectively sharing the road, path, and trail with other users. While these methods are critical for an individual rider, they may be more so for anyone riding with a group. Instruction is provided in the techniques needed to keep you and your fellow cyclists safe, to ensure the safety of others, and to maintain good relations with your community.

If your agency, business, or club name is associated with group riding you may carry higher liability risks if your associated riders are injured or cause injury to others. Waivers and legal fine-print are important, but focussed education can reduce the chances that your legal backstop will be needed. Bike education programs can help your group address Liability, Visibility, and Responsibility.

LIABILITY Ensure your riders understand and practice the rules of the road, helping reduce the likelihood your riders will be involved in incidents causing damage or injury.

VISIBILITY Promote rules-based riding practices to encourage a better relationship with other road and trail users, yielding a positive community image for your group and your organization.

RESPONSIBILITY Encourage your members to pass their knowledge to colleagues, friends, and family, extending their good example beyond their and your network.

Bicycle Solutions affiliated instructors can train your leaders or your entire group, in conference room or clubhouse settings, on the road, or both. Topics can be tailored to the needs of your organization and the skillset of your employees or members. Every organization may have its own specific needs, so our programs are bespoke to you.

CIVIC PROJECTS & CONSULTING

Bicycle Solutions is one of very few independent businesses offering a platform to bicycle education services from a dedicated network of League Cycling Instructors (LCIs). Most municipal and county governments require LCIs to provide the bicycle education components associated with SRTS development and implementation, transportation system planning, district plans, community events, and other publicly-funded programs. Our affiliated instructors have worked with multiple agencies and businesses to offer League of American Bicyclists oriented bicycle training to groups and individuals of all ages.
