I grew up in Pennsylvania where my dad, who passed away in early 2025, taught me to ride a bike. I often think of him now when I’m riding on a long ride, and I feel like his memory lives with me through these rides. Cycling is so special that way- it can be whatever you want it to be. It’s an incredible way to see and experience the world. Settled now in California I love exploring my world via bikes.
My goal as an educator is to make learning fun. My experience is that if you enjoy it and are patient with the process, you will get there when you’re supposed to get there. We all have different life stories, athletic abilities, body shapes, talents, head spaces and histories which may have been kind or unkind to us. Let it come to you. And if it’s not today, come back and try again. We (LCIs) will get you there. It’s a lifelong education, we all can always improve, and that’s part of the fun of riding!
